The Thai 7 guava plant (Psidium guajava) is a tropical evergreen shrub or small tree with dark green leaves and brightly colored fruit. The fruit is edible and has a sweet taste with a hint of tartness, and a crunchy texture. It's usually eaten raw and unripe, and can be as large as a grapefruit. The fruit has white flesh, pale yellow seeds, and a green bumpy peel, which are all edible. Thai 7 guava plants are also known as "Farang" or "Fan Si Thong".
Thai 7 guava plants are low maintenance, drought tolerant, and easy to grow. They can thrive in full sun or partial shade, and do best in medium to bright indirect light with higher humidity. They should be watered weekly, allowing the soil to dry out halfway down between waterings, and more frequently if they receive more light. Thai 7 guava plants are also pet-friendly.
