Product Description

The dragon fruit plant (scientifically known as Hylocereus or Selenicereus) is a type of cactus native to Central America, though it is now cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Here's a description of the plant:

General Appearance
Growth Habit: The dragon fruit plant is a climbing cactus that has long, trailing stems. These stems are green, triangular or ovate, and covered in small spines or are smooth, depending on the variety.

Height: In its natural environment, the plant can grow up to 20 feet (6 meters) or more, but when cultivated, it’s often pruned and supported by trellises or stakes to keep it manageable.

Flowers: The plant is known for its stunning, large, white or yellow flowers that bloom at night, typically opening in the evening and closing by the morning. These flowers are fragrant, and are often referred to as “moonflowers” or “queen of the night.”

Fruits: The fruit of the dragon fruit plant is what gives it its name. The fruit is a large, oval-shaped berry covered with vibrant pink or yellow skin and green scales (which resemble dragon scales). The flesh inside is usually white or red, dotted with small black seeds, and has a sweet and mildly tangy flavor.

Growing Conditions
Climate: Dragon fruit plants thrive in warm climates and are sensitive to frost. They require plenty of sunlight and should be kept in an environment with temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C).

Soil: They prefer well-drained, sandy or loamy soil, and they’re relatively tolerant of drought once established.

Watering: While they need regular watering, dragon fruit plants do not tolerate standing water, so it’s important to water them without over-saturating the soil.

Propagation and Care
Dragon fruit plants can be propagated from cuttings or by seeds. Cutting propagation is more common because it results in quicker fruiting.

They require minimal pruning, but if left unchecked, their growth can become unruly. Regular trimming ensures better airflow and a more manageable plant structure.

Harvesting
Dragon fruit takes about 30-50 days after flowering to mature. When ripe, the fruit's skin color deepens, and it should give slightly when pressed, much like an avocado.

Overall, the dragon fruit plant is a unique and visually stunning plant, producing not only beautiful flowers but also exotic, nutritious fruit.

REC: After getting (( VERY VERY IMPORTANT )) the plants, AVOID exposing them to direct sunlight as it can cause leaf BURN. AVOID overwatering your plants. The primary reason for outdoor plant demise is excessive watering.

Planting: Excavate a hole double the size in width and depth compared to the polybag that contains your plant. Fill it up, blending compost with the topsoil. Insert the plant into the newly loosened soil. It is essential to water both Rare Live Plant & Regular (Morning 300ml).

NOTE 1: The plant may appear dry due to transportation time.greenery nursery However, the plant is still healthy because it is an outdoor plant. Place it back in the soil, apply the included fertilizer, water it, and monitor it for a week. It will restore its freshness.
