The Washington navel orange tree (Citrus ? sinensis 'Washington') is a medium-sized, evergreen tree with a rounded canopy and glossy leaves:
Size: Can grow up to 15 ft tall and wide, but may not reach its full size if grown in a container
Shape: Round-topped with slightly drooping branches
Foliage: Rich green leaves that stay green all year
Flowers: Small, white, fragrant blooms that appear in spring and mid to late autumn
Fruit: Large, rounded oranges with thin skin that are sweet, juicy, and seedless
Harvest: The first harvest is in winter, followed by a second crop in spring
Washington navel orange trees thrive in subtropical to mild temperate climates with warm summers and mild winters. They prefer well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral pH soil and at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. They can be grown outdoors, where they are generally not bothered by pests or diseases. If grown indoors, they may be susceptible to mites, aphids, and scale, which can be treated with Pyrethrin, a Neem-based product, or insecticidal soap.

Medium to large spherical to obovoid-shaped deep orange fruit with a rich flavor. Easy to peel. Origin. : The Washington navel orange originated from a single mutation on a tree in Bahia, Brazil, in the early 19th century. This mutation resulted in a fruit with a distinctive navel-like formation on the blossom end.
